Standard preventative maintenance performed by the University’s 汽车商店 helps ensure our vehicles are properly maintained, maximizing their useful life as well as their end-of-life value. The University 汽车商店 has a labor rate that averages 20% lower than outside repair shops which also reduces University expenses.
舰队istics
As all University drivers are required to enroll in the Safer Driver Program, 一个车辆管理软件程序, 舰队istics，安装在每辆车上. 舰队istics provides numerous safety features including instant accident notification and a driver safety scorecard that provides data regarding speed, 制动, 安全带的使用. 作为一个额外的好处, 舰队istics also provides operational tools such as fuel usage reports, 怠速时间, and route information that help reduce emissions, 减少开支, 提高生产力.

Fill out the 车辆 Acquisition and Approval Form (see link above). This will automatically be sent to the 舰队 Manager who will research a vehicle to meet the department’s needs. This may be a new vehicle or an existing vehicle within the 舰队. Once a vehicle has been selected and priced the 舰队 Manager will send the Acquisition and Approval Form back to the requestor with the proposed vehicle and cost. The department then obtains the required signatures and once approved at all levels, the form is returned to the 舰队 Manager and the vehicle will be acquired.
根据大学政策, the department is responsible for ensuring that anyone who drives a University vehicle has agreed to the Safer Driver Program (see link above). A signed copy of their understanding should be kept on file by the department.
In addition, all drivers should be enrolled in the License Event Notification System (LENS) Program. 一旦注册, the department will be notified if a driver is convicted of a moving violation or is in a reported accident (on or off work time).
Any vehicle damage should be immediately reported by filling out the 车辆 Damage Form (see link above) within one business day. 如果车辆有牌照, the 车辆 意外保险表格 (see link above) should be filled out as well in order to file an insurance claim. The forms should be submitted to the 舰队 Manager and the vehicle needs to be inspected by the 汽车商店 to ensure it is safe to drive prior to being placed in operation again. The 舰队 Manager will then coordinate repair estimates and filing of the insurance claim.
舰队istics is a fleet management program that currently is or will be installed on all licensed vehicles. The system enables the 舰队 Manager and a department representative to better monitor and utilize their vehicles in a safe and cost-effective manner. The system allows for live tracking (real-time location) of all vehicles and provides a number of reports to include fuel usage, 怠速时间, 路线优化. 从安全的角度来看, 舰队istics monitors driver behavior (Driver Safety Scorecard) by providing feedback on such things as speeding, 硬刹车, 安全带的使用. The system will also provide instant accident notifications.
Prior to the end of the lease term the 舰队 will arrange for the 汽车商店 to inspect the vehicle to determine its overall condition. Based on the condition and expected usage by the department, the 舰队 will determine if the department will continue to use the vehicle at a reduced rate of if a replacement vehicle is more appropriate.
